Tasks
- Investigation and optimization of the rubber injection molding process
- Process modelling, simulation, and analysis of complex contexts
- Experiments and analyses of part quality with different test methods like compression set, dynamical testing, chemical methods, and fracture mechanics-based approaches
- Self-reliant elaboration of the project goals and responsibility for highly self-organized scientific work
- Communication of research results to scientific community & to industrial partners (e.g. journal papers, conference proceedings, project meetings)
- Support of bachelor- and master students
Required skills
- University degree (Dipl.-Ing., MSc. or similar) in technical or natural sciences
- Experience in the field of polymer processing (mandatory), such as injection molding or extrusion of polymeric materials
- Experiences on rubber materials and rubber processing is advantageous
- Willingness to learn programming language (e.g. MATLAB, Java, C++)
- Personal initiative, skills for self-organization and teamwork, effective communication skills with the ability to collaborate with partner companies and other researchers
- Open mindedness for innovative solutions paired with interdisciplinary thinking is helpful
- Good written and verbal communication skills are required (English is mandatory, German is advantageous)
