The Department of Packaging and Resource Management offers the part-timeBachelor's degree courses in Packaging Technology and Sustainable ResourceManagement as well as the international Master's degree course in PackagingTechnology and Sustainability. The courses focus on the sustainability, healthaspects and safety of packaging as well as the careful use of resources. We arelooking to recruit for ongoing research projects as soon as possible.

Your Responsibilities

  • Leading a group of four, five reserachers who are active in the field ofmaterial sciences, mostly paper sciences and functional barrier coatings
  • Initiating and drafting international and national research funding proposals(EU-Horizon/ERC, FFG, JRZ, VKS, FWF, and more)
  • Managing, coordinating, and actively contributing to ongoing researchprojects
  • Engaging in networking activities, initiating industrial collaborations, andconducting contract research
  • Writing scientific publications for peer-reviewed journals
  • Planning and initiating third-mission activities
  • Supporting the research center’s management in external representation andinternal reporting within the university
  • Teaching workload of 4 hours per week (SWS) and supervising thesis projects

Your Profile

  • Extensive experience in acquiring third-party funding and drafting successfulresearch proposals, as well as managing and coordinating externally fundedresearch projects
  • Completed higher education (PhD preferred) in a relevant field, such asmaterial science, paper science or technical chemistry
  • Proven record of multiple first- and co-authorships in peer-reviewedscientific journals.
  • Confident demeanor and readiness to engage in networking andcommunication with partners from research and industry
  • Willingness to travel (max. 10%) and participate in international scientificconferences.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office
  • High resilience (especially during project proposal submissions), teamworkorientation, excellent communication skills, flexibility, and self-initiative
  • Excellent written and spoken English and German skills

General Conditions

  • Place of employment is at the location Vienna 10 - “Altes Landgut”
  • Permanent employment with 39 hours per week and the opportunity to starta career as an Associate FH Professor (duration 3-4 years)
  • The salary is based on the Hochschule Campus Wien salary system anddepends onprevious relevant professional experience. Postdoc, Senior Researcher starts
    at € 4.252 x 14 with five years of relevant experience (full-time basis, 39hours per week) - Hochschule Campus Wien is not subject to a collectiveagreement
  • Bonuses for successfully acquired third-party funds and management of research projects
  • Start of employment from 01.02.2026
